Pediatric MS Research at UB Gets Boost From Sales of NYS Custom License PlatesPosted: May 17, 2012
Chris Jacobs, Erie County Clerk, and NYS Senator Mark Grisanti congratulate Dr. Bianca Weinstock-Guttman and her team for this $10,000 award for pediatric MS research at UB Neurology/Jacobs Neurological Institute.
So far, $26,000 has been raised by the National MS Society over the past eight years from the sale of custom license plates. This award was one of two $10,000 awards made on Thursday, 5/17/12 for pediatric research.
Thank you to the motorists all around New York State who support MS research through NY’s National MS Society custom license plate program. We are honored to have been selected by the NMSS state chapter and we applaud their ongoing support for MS research, patient education and patient support locally and nationally.
Both Jacobs and Grisanti have a longtime interest in MS. Mark Grisanti’s brother has MS. Chris Jacobs’ father was the late Dr. Larry Jacobs, Chairman of the Department of Neurology for 12 years and world renowned MS researcher and clinician. http://www.buffalo.edu/articles/research_gift_lawrence_jacobs_bio.html
